From working at the world’s leading art business, to opening her own firm in 2020, Muys is an innovative leader and creative strategist whose experience in the field of art advisory and international management place her uniquely at the intersection of art and business.
Over her 20-year tenure at Christie's, most recently as the Managing Director, Americas, Muys has worked with divisions globally to successfully define, built, and implement aggressive growth strategies; to develop their online presence, launch in new markets such as China and scale their Global Private Sales platform, resulting in $1.2bn annually in sales. While in the Post War & Contemporary Art department, her per-eminent leadership of cross functional teams, combined with state-of-the-art client and sales strategies, led to a seamless adjustment in value and volume of sales and contributed to the success of countless high-profile sales, such as the 11th Hour, sold to benefit The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. It was during this time that Christie's made history by hosting record breaking evening sales totaling $495m (May 2013), $700m (Nov 2013) and near to $1bn in May 2014 and sold the most expensive Post War painting ever offered at auction - Francis Bacon Three Studies of Lucian Freud - for $142.4million. Muys has an instinctual ability to assess business needs and identify practical solutions. In her executive leadership role at Bonhams she worked with a Private Equity firm to develop their 3-year plan to grow the US middle market. Muys has a proven track record of applying entrepreneurial strategies to capitalize on new business opportunities, helping those she works with to organize, pivot, and expand whether they be start-ups, businesses in transition or established firms. Muys is positive, pragmatic, personable and culturally sensitive. She uses collaborative working practices to build trust-based relationships with key stakeholders and HNW clients. She is a trusted advisor, well regarded expert, auctioneer, and speaker, specializing in art business management, collecting and investing in art. Together with her highly skilled team, she presents a unique asset to commercial art organizations, start-ups and artists looking to grow, develop and enhance their business venture in the art world. Muys holds an MA in Art History and Classical Archaeology from Leiden University in the Netherlands, as well as an MA in Arts Management from Greenwich University and an MA in Art Market Appraisal from Kingston University (accredited by the RICS) in the United Kingdom. Muys is also a graduate of the Senior Executive Leadership Program for China from Harvard Business School, Tsinghua University in Beijing, and CEIBS in Shanghai. and most recently obtained a Certificate in Alternative Investments from Harvard Business School. Muys speaks Dutch, English, German and Spanish and has a limited proficiency in French and Mandarin. She has worked in Amsterdam, London, and New York. She is an honorary committee member of the Appraisal Association of America and the Dutch Centre in London and an active member of the Guggenheim Young Collectors Acquisition Committee, Institute of Contemporary Art in Miami Visionary, POWarts, Art Mamas and ArtTable, the foremost professional organization dedicated to advancing the leadership of womxn in the visual arts.
Kristin Aronson

Kristin is a Managing Director in our practice. She focuses on the various facets of management that revolve around strategic planning and financial management. Prior to joining Art Business Consulting Kristin was the Vice President and Business Director of Business Development at Christie's in the Americas where she focused on driving business strategy, client experience, operating models and complexity reduction. Prior to that Kristin was a gallery manager at Alexander Gray Associates. Kristin holds an MA in Modern Art, Connoisseurship, and the History of the Art Market from Christie's Education and a B.A. in Art History from Gustavus Adoplphus College.
Catharina van Beuningen

Catie has over 10 years experience in arts communications, working for a broad range of clients, from museums and art fairs to commercial galleries and art start-ups. Prior to working as a consultant, Catie worked for communication agencies Sutton and Reiber PR in London, managing campaigns across art, design and lifestyle press. As Account Directors at Sutton she managed a team on the UK and European Press for Art Basel, Basel, Hong Kong and Miami. Further clients have included PAD London, Levy Gorvy, Ben Brown Fine Arts, Galerie Dutko, Fondation Cartier, The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation and The Photographer's Gallery London. Catie studied Graphic Design and History of Art in Groningen, The Netherlands and has a master's degree in Management in the Creative Industries from the University of St. Andrews. Catie is a native English and Dutch speaker, with an intermediate level of Spanish and French.

Her clients have worked with her for many years, she pays keen attention to cultural values and ethics. She can be considered an interventionist and is able to effect transformational change in support of business. Katushka is a Senior Advisor to Rothschild & Co, Ambassador of 30 Percent Club, Former Chair at St. Benets, Oxford University, Patron of The Vatican Arts, and an active Participant in Speakers for Schools. Born in Dublin, an Irish passport holder, Katushka was educated in the United Kingdom, and graduated from the University of Plymouth with a B.A. Hons in Sociology and Politics. Residence is in the UK. Her heritage is largely Irish and Russian, diversity and inclusion and open mindedness plays a crucial role in her work.
