Art Business Consulting, a New York based Art Management Consultancy and Recruitment firm, is seeking for our client, a highly motivated Associate Specialist, Post War & Contemporary Art. The Associate Specialist will gain unparalleled experience working closely with the Director, Senior Specialist, Post War & Contemporary Art in the growing Fine Art department of an established auction house.

In this exciting full-time role, the Associate Specialist will be supporting the departments’ consignment efforts and responsible for cataloging, research and authentication of all Post-War and Contemporary artworks consigned to the department. The successful candidate will be excited about developing expertise and building relationships in the Post War & Contemporary Art market whilst working with an established team of highly experienced experts.

The auction house is looking for applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History or Arts Management plus (5+ years) prior work experience ideally within an auction house or gallery with a strong focus on Post War & Contemporary Art. The suitable candidate has superior client skills and a proven ability to assist business getting efforts. In addition, the successful applicant must be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines whilst maintaining great attention to detail. Excellent organization and communication skills are a must.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Art History or Arts Management 

  • (5+ years) prior work experience within an auction house or gallery with a strong focus on Post War & Contemporary Art, preferred.

  • The suitable candidate has superior client skills and a proven ability to assist business getting efforts. 

  • Excellent organization and communication skills are a must.

  • Maintaining great attention to detail.

  • Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
